We are delighted to share with you our most recent Ofsted inspection report, from December 2023.
There are 2 types of inspection and despite expecting a graded (section 5) inspection, ours was an ungraded (section 8) inspection. Although the process was a very robust and thorough 2 days with HMIs (His Majesty’s Inspectors), because it was an ungraded inspection, they were not able to actually change the existing overall judgement of good. However, in the inspectors’ words, it was clear to the team that
“This is indeed a school where pupils thrive.”
Despite not being able to change the grading the outcome is: ‘the evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded (section 5) inspection were carried out now’.
We have picked some highlights for you, describing Etching Hill as a school where:
“… children are encouraged to shine and make a difference to others.”
there is “exceptional teamwork with staff working collaboratively to support each other to be the best they can be.”
‘…provides a curriculum which is “inspiring, highly engaging and extremely well designed.”
